This 2-3 hour guided hike (4-6 km depending on sites visited) through Šimkaičiai Forest visits partisan bunkers and underground shelters tied to the 1949 journey of partisan commanders Adolfas Ramanauskas-Vanagas and Aleksandras Grybinas-Faustas. Its highlight is a reconstructed bunker of Jonas Žemaitis-Vytautas, Lithuania’s fourth and de facto wartime president, presented as an underground "presidency," and the excursion ends with a snack styled on partisan-era provisions, offered for both children’s and adult groups.
