Graži vieta, Vidzeme
This large boulder rests on a small, spring-fed ridge that rises several meters above Bānūži Lake in Bānūži village, Taurene parish. It measures about 4.4 meters long, 2.5 meters high and 15 meters in circumference, with a volume of roughly 20 cubic meters, and its surface is partly covered in moss. Known locally as both Bānūžu velnakmens and Vella vārtu akmens (Devil's Gate Stone), it is protected as a local-level nature monument, in an area also holding a former Livonian settlement, an ancient burial ground and a sacred spring.
