A. Christianovičius built a temporary wooden church on his Tytuvėnai estate in 1872, replaced by the current stone church built between 1873 and 1875, which originally served the Raseiniai and Kolainiai Orthodox congregations. After the Second World War the parish changed hands several times, and Soviet authorities twice tried to shut it down, once in 1947 seeking to convert it into a storage building and again in 1953 demanding back payments that clergy managed to settle. It now operates as a branch of Šiauliai's Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
