Ložmetējkalna observation tower

Apžvalgos vieta, Zemgale

This 27-meter observation tower stands at Tīreļpurvs/Ložmetējkalns, part of a well-preserved World War I battlefield tied to the 1916 Christmas Battles, with nearby trenches, memorial stones, and a Latvian Riflemen monument. The tower was closed in August 2017 after an inspection found structural damage, then reconstructed and reopened to visitors in July 2018 following safety re-certification. A rest area with benches and a fireplace is available at the base.
