Gėlos rest area

Iškylos vieta, Vilniaus apskritis

This rest area sits on the shore of Gėlos ežeras (Lake Gėla) near Nemenčinė in Vilnius District, reached by heading from Nemenčinė toward Ryšininkai. The lake is best known for its white clay deposits along the shoreline, which draw visitors for informal spa-style bathing alongside swimming, fishing, and walking. On busy summer weekends the shore gets crowded enough that the State Forest Service has had to post warnings about broken glass hidden in the clay and cleans the area weekly to keep it usable.
