Pilkieji garniai ir kormoranai marks an observation platform on the edge of one of Lithuania's oldest and largest colonies of grey herons and great cormorants, on the Curonian Spit near Juodkrantė. The colony holds roughly 500 heron nests and around 2,000 cormorant nests built high in the pine trees. Cormorants return first in early February, herons follow in early March, and the birds raise their young through summer before the colony empties again in autumn.
