Veisiejai Regional Park, established in 1992 across 12,259 hectares in Lazdijai district, contains 37 lakes - including Ančia, Snaigynas, Šlavantas and Verniejus, linked for canoe and boat touring. Forest covers just over half the park, mostly pine with hazel, linden and oak. It also preserves a fragment of a 1740s manor estate built for Grand Hetman Mykolas Masalskis, with a geometric park laid out between the manor and the lake, and around 5.3 km of marked walking trails.
