Lake Barsukynas

Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis

Ežeras Barsukynas is a small, non-flowing lake in the Pageluvys landscape reserve of Kurtuvėnai Regional Park, about 6.5 km southwest of Bubiai in Šiauliai district. It measures roughly 290 by 190 meters, with wooded, elevated banks except for a low southern shore, and drains via the Raudė stream. The lake is bordered by the Barsukynas esker, a protected geomorphological natural heritage site, and takes its name from the badgers that have long inhabited its shore, where a colony still lives today.
