Rising on a steep-sided hill above the left bank of the Laukupė River near Moškėnai village in Rokiškis district, this hillfort is also known as Laukupėnų piliakalnis. Its rectangular platform, about 38 by 50 meters, was once ringed by two lines of ramparts and ditches, with slopes dropping 20 to 30 meters to the surrounding terrain. Archaeologist Liudvikas Kšivickis excavated roughly 860 square meters of the site in 1909 and 1911, uncovering a cultural layer up to a meter thick with bronze, iron, amber, flint, bone, and pottery finds spanning from the late 1st millennium BCE into the 1st millennium CE. Today the mound has a wooden staircase with handrails and a small gravel parking area for visitors.
