Graži vieta, Kurzeme
This 1.36-hectare square sits on the highest point in Liepāja (11 meters above sea level) and was originally laid out in 1914 as a military parade and training ground before being renamed in 1925 to honor Latvia's first president, Jānis Čakste. Restored and reopened in December 2013 with a memorial ensemble to Čakste, an illuminated fountain, and a children's playground, the square can hold roughly 2,000 people and is still used for city events, concerts, and fairs.
