Laid out in the second half of the 19th century on the grounds of the former Markutiškiai manor in Jonava district, this park has been under state protection since 1985 and was designated a natural monument of local significance the following year. Although the manor house itself no longer stands, the grounds retain roughly 50 tree and shrub species, 21 native and 29 introduced, including limes, maples, ash and pine alongside more unusual specimens, arranged around ponds and avenues left from the estate era. A reconstruction plan drawn up by the Kaunas Water Management Design Institute in 1983 guided later upkeep of the grounds.
