Turistinis maršrutas "Lidijos takais"

Graži vieta, Tauragės apskritis

This 7.4 km circular themed route in Smalininkai links nine sites to miniature paintings by local artist Lidija Meškaitytė (1926-1993), each depicting the exact spot it marks: a Nemunas river water-level gauging station established in 1811, among the oldest in Europe; the former Jurbarkas customs building, relocated here in 1923; the bridge over the Šventoji marking a historic Lithuania Minor/Lithuania Major border; the artist’s birthplace homestead; "Baublys," a hollowed-oak structure built in 1979; the Smalininkai vocational school, established in 1954; and the old river harbor and pier, an 18th-20th century timber-shipping hub whose embankment walk reaches a border marker with Kaliningrad visible across the river.
