Buvusio Ariogalos žydų sinagogų komplekso memorialas

Graži vieta, Kauno apskritis

Before the Second World War, a smaller and a larger synagogue stood side by side on what is now Vienybės street in Ariogala. In August 1941 the local Jewish community was confined to a ghetto set up within the synagogue complex, and on September 1, 1941 they were taken to a massacre site in the Dubysa valley. Architects V. Rudokas and A. Vyšniūnas designed this memorial, which traces the outline of the larger synagogue's former walls, with two trees planted nearby to represent life and hope.
