Dreiliņkalns

Graži vieta, Rigas regions

Rising to roughly 35 metres and considered Riga's tallest hill, Dreiliņkalns was built by capping and landscaping a former municipal landfill on the site. It sits where the Purvciems, Pļavnieki and Dreiliņi neighborhoods of the Vidzeme Suburb meet, sealed with a protective layer and revegetated as part of the landfill's environmental remediation. Riga City Council removed the perimeter fence and opened the hill to the public at the end of May 2024, with further recreational infrastructure such as walking and cycling paths planned.
