Vieta, Kurzeme
The Sventajas river valley is a nature reserve in the Rucavas parish of the Southern Kurzeme region. It stretches for 20 km along the right bank of the Sventaja river from the border of Dunik parish to the place where the river turns south in the territory of Lithuania. The reserve was established in 1987 to protect the habitats of open inland dune as well as deciduous forest with common hornbeam. The territory is also important for the protection of forests of slopes and ravines.
