These legally protected lindens once stood about 100 meters apart on the shore of Kaukinė Lake: the first, 35 meters tall with a trunk girth of 2.98 meters, had long been mostly withered, while the second, 25 meters tall with a trunk girth of 3.45 meters, stayed green. On August 12, 2021, around 4pm, the first linden fell into the small lake.
