Reachable only on foot from a crossroads parking spot off route 84 near Õngu, this forest hut sits along the Tihu educational trail inside Hiiumaa’s Tihu special management zone. Inside, benches and a simple grill serve hikers, while a dry outdoor toilet is the only sanitary facility; there is no water source, so visitors must bring their own. Because the hut lies in a protected zone, lighting fires outside it or pitching tents nearby is prohibited, and a 200-meter boardwalk from the trail leads to an observation platform on Lake Tihu.
