On an island in the Mosėdis pond, reachable by boat or across the ice in winter, lies this disused Jewish cemetery with around 20 concrete and granite tombstones bearing Hebrew epitaphs, along with a memorial stone marked with a Star of David and inscriptions in Yiddish and Lithuanian. It marks the presence of Mosėdis's Jewish community, established in the 17th and 18th centuries and destroyed during the Second World War.
