Kalamecu-Markūzu gravas are two dolomite ravines in Gaujiena parish near the Latvian-Estonian border: the 240-meter-long, 12-meter-deep Kalameci ravine, which has several small waterfalls, and the 250-meter-long, 13-meter-deep Markūzi ravine, which contains an artificial cave carved out during past dolomite quarrying. Protected since 1962 as a state geological and geomorphological monument and included in the Natura 2000 network, the site covers 28.78 hectares of V-shaped canyon terrain with dolomite cliff exposures and spring-fed slope forests. Vehicle access is difficult and the trails are unmarked.
