Jaunsventes parks

Graži vieta, Latgale

This manor park in Svente, Augšdaugavas Municipality, was laid out in the second half of the 19th century, before the neighboring Sventes Manor house was built between 1912 and 1920. Covering about 5.22 hectares, it holds 29 native and 27 introduced tree and shrub species, including four registered ancient trees and a stand of European larch. The grounds are a protected dendrological site managed by Latvia’s Nature Conservation Agency and are home to protected lichens, beetles, amphibians, woodpeckers and bats.
