This wooden church traces its origins to 1413, when King Jogaila and Grand Duke Vytautas pledged to build eight churches across Samogitia following its Christianization, with Luokė receiving one of them. The current structure was rebuilt after earlier fires and reconstructions, consecrated in 1774 and completed in 1778, giving it a Latin-cross floor plan with a single nave and side chapels. Inside, folk Baroque decoration includes murals, Doric columns, five altars and a 13-stop pipe organ from 1854, while a separate belfry added in 1899 holds three bells named after Saints George, Joseph and Thecla.
