This active sand quarry near Mažonai and Ceikiškės village in Tauragė district has been in continuous operation for around twelve years under businessman Antanas Venckus, who founded the company of the same name. It draws on one of several adjoining sand deposits in the area, extracting natural sand and gravel and renting out excavation equipment for local road and site preparation work. Unlike some disused Lithuanian quarries that have been repurposed for swimming or fishing, this one remains a working industrial site rather than a dedicated recreation spot.
