Standing on flat, open ground near Biliūnai village with no natural defensive features nearby, unlike the roughly 30 other documented Lithuanian field fortifications of the 16th century onward, this earthwork is the only one of its kind in Raseiniai district, possibly dating to Swedish fortifications from the Great Northern War era.
