Lieporių parkas covers about 13.4 hectares in the Lieporiai microdistrict on the southern edge of Šiauliai, planted between 1960 and 1970 and now surrounded by apartment blocks and several schools. The Šiauliai municipality has committed EU and municipal funding, roughly 3 million euros initially and since grown due to peat-soil complications, to overhaul the park with new paths, a cleaned and deepened pond, sports and playground areas, a sledding hill, and a bike path along Signatarų Avenue. A 2026 public survey found 95 percent support for the additional investment, and construction was expected to begin around mid-2026.
