Zušuciema parks

Graži vieta, Kurzeme

Built between 2017 and 2018 on former church-owned land in Engure that fishermen once used for drying nets, this small themed park traces the journey of eels from the sea to the traditional weir through a series of sculptures and installations. Its centerpiece fisherman statue stands alongside a recreated weir, boats, and a set of boulders brought from the Slampe area that catalogue Latvia's freshwater fish species, plus a stream bed of stones donated by local residents. The park is landscaped with flower beds, benches, and evening lighting, reflecting the fishing and maritime heritage of the Engure community.
