Galvydiškės piliakalnis

Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis

Rising at the confluence of the Juodupis and Šona streams and also known as Pilikė or Piliukė, this hillfort is surrounded on all sides by marsh. Its gentle slopes rise about 3 meters to a platform roughly 26 meters wide and 170 meters long. Local legend holds that residents once drove cattle (galvijai) along hidden marsh paths to shelter them here from raiders, giving the hillfort its name.
