Žygis, Kurzeme
Laid out within the historic hunting park of the former Kalēti manor in South Kurzeme Municipality, these themed nature trails cover about 5 km combined and are dedicated to subjects such as mushrooms, wild animals and medicinal plants, each route marked with differently colored posts and decorated with wooden sculptures. The park is notable as the site where red deer imported from Germany in 1848 were first released before spreading throughout Latvia, and several trail sections are adapted for wheelchair users and visitors with visual impairments. Along the routes visitors also find a small children's adventure area, picnic spots, fire pits and an information center.
