This neo-Gothic brick church was designed by Vaclovas Michnevičius, who attended school in Žeimiai and is buried in its churchyard, and was built between 1898 and 1906 to replace an earlier wooden church that burned down in 1893, itself standing on a parish founded around 1522 by nobleman Andrius Zaviša. Twin towers flank the façade above a three-nave interior lit by stained-glass windows made by Vladislovas Pšibitnevskis. Russian soldiers damaged the towers and removed the bells and organ in 1915 during the First World War, and the church was restored afterward; its cemetery still holds the 1843 Kosakovskis family mausoleum among several chapels.
