Drubažu botanikos takas

Graži vieta, Kurzeme

Sabile's Drubazu botanical trail runs through the Abavas valley nature park just off road P130, covering roughly one to two kilometers depending on which of its two loops a visitor takes. The path crosses dry calcareous grasslands, a rare lime-rich fen with marsh gentian, and dense juniper stands, habitats considered endangered across Europe. Since 2019 a herd of pedigree Galloway cattle has grazed the adjoining pastures, and the farm's owner Ģirts Dzērve, an environmental science graduate, keeps the meadows mowed by hand each year before September 15. Walking the trail is free and self-guided, though Dzērve also leads guided tours on request.
