Medinis apžvalgos bokštas prie Šeimyniškėlių piliakalnio

Apžvalgos vieta, Utenos apskritis

This wooden observation tower stands beside the Šeimyniškėliai hillfort north of Anykščiai, a site dendrochronologically dated to 1232 and widely believed by historians to be Voruta, the fortress of Grand Duke Mindaugas. Two towers, built in 2004 and 2017 and linked by a gallery, let visitors look out over the hillfort and surrounding valley, alongside a courtyard exhibition on the 13th-century wooden fortress, archaeological finds, and a fortress model. Archaeologist Gintautas Zabiela led 19 seasons of excavation here from 1990, making it one of the most thoroughly studied hillforts in the eastern Baltic region.
