The romantic-style palace at Pagryžuvio manor was built in 1858 to a design by noted architect F. Rimgaila. In the late 18th century the estate belonged to the Šemeta noble family, later passing to the Pszeciszewski family. Nationalized after the First World War, it was handed to the Jesuits, who ran a novitiate in the palace until the Second World War.
