Laimio hill

Apžvalgos vieta, Vilniaus apskritis

Laimio kalnas, also known as Liepkalnis, is the highest point in Vilnius, with an absolute elevation of about 235 meters and rising roughly 60 meters above its base. Skiing enthusiast Laimis Janutėnas began reshaping the hill in 1982, raising it by about 16 meters over 18 years to build a ski slope, which is why it is also called Laimis' Hill. It now hosts a ski slope operating in winter for both beginners and experienced skiers, and its summit offers panoramic views over Vilnius's Old Town and surrounding districts.
