Rising above the northern shore of Pilskalna Lake in Veclaicene, this hillfort reaches 247 meters above sea level and roughly 80 meters above the lake, with its southeastern slope falling away at a 45 degree angle, among the steepest hillfort slopes recorded in Latvia. A maintained trail crosses the ridge shaped summit, about 130 by 50 meters, with wooden stairs on the steep side and a picnic and campfire spot at the top. From the viewpoint at neighboring Kornetu Hill, visitors can see across to Lielais Munameģis, the highest point in the Baltic states at 318 meters. Historians have proposed Drusku pilskalns as a possible site of the ancient fortress of Beverīna, mentioned in medieval chronicles.
