This Šilutė-Ventė stretch is part of the E9 trail ("Jūrų takas"/Sea Trail) - a European long-distance hiking route running from Cape St. Vincent in Portugal to Tallinn, Estonia, along the Atlantic, English Channel, North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts. Its Lithuanian section covers about 216 km through Neringa, Klaipėda, Palanga and Šventoji, with a branch along the Curonian Lagoon via Rusnė and Šilutė.
