Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis
The park in central Šiauliai, along Aušros alėja, dates to the early 1920s, when the Zubov family, owners of the adjoining Šiauliai manor, donated roughly 3.6 hectares of parkland together with the Kaštonų alėja (Chestnut Lane) to the city, on condition it carry the name of Countess Alexandra and Count Nikolai Zubov in perpetual memory. The manor house on the same grounds, now known as Zubovų rūmai, currently houses Šiauliai University's Arts Faculty. During the 1930s the park was expanded with tennis courts, a children's playground, and a summer theater. For much of the 20th century locals knew it instead as Karolio Požėlos parkas, and Šiauliai historians have since argued for restoring the Zubov dedication.
