Graži vieta, Latgale
In the center of Zilupe, close to the town’s border crossing with Russia, a small park and adjoining square give residents a green space away from the rail-junction bustle that shaped the town’s growth. A fountain provides ambient sound for visitors sitting on the benches, while a children’s playground draws families to the same grounds. Zilupe itself grew up around the Ventspils-Moscow railway line after 1900 and gained town rights in 1931, and this park remains one of its few dedicated recreational spaces in the town center.
