Vieta, Latgale
Kinkausku meži is a Natura 2000 forest reserve in Latgale, established in 2004 to protect natural bog-forest habitats. Pine stands with an understory of Ledum and bilberry-type dwarf shrubs cover much of the drier ground, while wetter mixed bog forest with sedges and Sphagnum mosses supports several protected plant communities. It is a low-key site with no visitor infrastructure, of interest mainly to those exploring Latgale's forest and bog ecosystems.
