Jašas-Bicānu ezers is a 311-hectare reserve established in 2004 around Bicāni Lake and the oak and mixed broadleaf forests on its peninsula and islands, among the richest such woodlands in southern Latvia. It protects a eutrophic lake habitat plus several rare plants.
