Standing in the southern part of Krustkalni Nature Reserve beside the Ļaudona-Mārciena road, near the Madona-Trepes glacial moraine ridge, this steel viewing tower opens up sweeping views across the Vidzeme highlands, with the tower on Gaiziņkalns visible on clear days. From its base, visitors can also see the lakes Mazais Plencis and Lielais Plencis in the Dūku-Svētes depression below. Because the tower sits inside a Natura 2000 protected area, access is limited to the tower itself and its parking area, but it remains open to visitors year-round without prior registration.
