Baluošas is one of the largest lakes in Aukštaitija National Park, located about 8.5 km northwest of Ignalina. Its most unusual feature is Ilgasalė, a forested island that itself contains a small lake, a rare "lake within a lake" formation in Lithuania. Fishing here yields bream, roach, pike, tench, and perch.
