Veczvārdes centrs marks the site of Zvārde parish's former manor and village center, which developed from the late 16th century and by the interwar period held around eight buildings, including a manor house, the Zvārde People's House, a pharmacy, a post office, a medical clinic and a dairy. After World War II the surrounding area became a closed Soviet military aviation practice range, and the buildings were destroyed during the war and the following decades of military use. Today only building foundations remain, and visitors can trace the outline of the former parish center among them.
