Upytė hillfort lies north of the town of Upytė in Panevėžys district, reachable via highway 195. Its rectangular platform measures roughly 40x18 meters, defended by a 1.2-meter rampart with an 8-meter-wide ditch and a crescent-shaped outer bailey some 200 meters long. Archaeological digs in 1997 and 2004 uncovered the foundations of a 17th-18th century manor built here after the hillfort's active use, along with a nearby 3rd-5th century cemetery, and the site is believed to have been the center of the historical Upytė land mentioned in 13th-century records.
