Kintų tuja

Graži vieta, Klaipėdos apskritis

Known locally as Didžioji Kintų tuja (the Great Thuja of Kintai), this double-stemmed arborvitae stands nearly 19.8 meters tall with a crown roughly 12 meters wide and a trunk circumference of 3.66 meters measured at 1.3 meters height. It is believed to have been planted around 1902-1912 when a nearby forester's building went up, and its twin trunks make ring-counting impossible for exact dating. Protected as a natural monument since 1968, it is recognized as the largest thuja in Lithuania and the second-largest documented in Europe after a specimen in Switzerland.
