Pleikšņu kalnu stāvvieta

Graži vieta, Latgale

Pleikšņu Hill rises above Rēzekne in Ozolaine Parish and has long served locals as a viewpoint over the city spread out in the valley below. It takes its name from the Plekšņi families who lived there in the 18th century, and for generations it was a traditional gathering spot used for Jāņi (Midsummer) bonfires and other holiday fires. Since the 1980s the slopes have filled in with summer cottages and, increasingly, year-round homes, and the settlement only gained official village status in 2020. Much of the upper hill is now private property, so public access today is mainly from the surrounding parking and approach areas rather than the fenced summit itself.
