Kokneses parks

Graži vieta, Vidzeme

Kokneses parks was laid out in 1900 at the point where the Perse River meets the Daugava, next to the ruins of the medieval Koknese castle. It includes a reconstructed model of the former Perse waterfall, the restored 'Velna pagrabiņš' (Devil's Cellar), the 'Fauna galva' fountain, and wooden sculptures such as the 11-meter 'Mūžībai' by sculptor Ģirts Burvis. Paths, a footbridge known as the Love Bridge, and children's play areas make it a spot for family walks.
