Kelmės akmeninės skulptūros

Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis

Stone sculptures have decorated Kelmė since Soviet times, and the collection grew substantially through biennial stone-carving symposiums held since 2004, which have donated 50 works to the town. Among them stand "Three Gnomes" by Valdas Bandza, carved from light gray granite to represent wisdom, guidance and mystery, and "Butterfly," made by Linas Mockus in 2010 to set stone's permanence against the fragility of life. The tourism center runs guided tours of the town's stone sculptures for visitors who want to see them all.
